Being able to combine that with education and financially supporting a previously disadvantaged student to complete an Ecotourism and Hospitality Programme in 2023!
The Grootbos Foundation is a non-profit organization with the vision of conserving the Cape Floral Kingdom and uplifting the communities therein.
The mission? Develop sustainable livelihoods through ecotourism, enterprise development, sports development, and education.
The Green Futures Indigenous Horticulture and Life Skills College provides QCTO accredited training to 12 unemployed young adults each year. Student candidates develop the skills and confidence necessary to market themselves and become employable, while at the same time contributing to the conservation and promotion of our region’s unique biodiversity.
Since its inception, over 118 young people have graduated, and more than 90% of graduates have found employment on completion of the course.
